Synopsis
A widowed working mother must make a business trip. She asks her parents to baby-sit with her teenage children. BABY-SIT! The kids rebel.

The Citizen of Southern, Calif., summarizes the play which was premiered by the Torrey Pines Players of Del Mar, Calif., "Two teen-agers are faced with the various problems of growing up in modern times. Their parents are separated. Their bodies are beginning to mature. New communication barriers appear and tempers flare. Squeeze is a touching look at family relationships to which people of all ages can relate."—with laughs, tears, and suspense. Squeeze is an important, significant play for adults and teen-agers to see—parents and children together.

The Scabs can be a genuine rock group, or they can pantomime playing with the music on tape offered by the publisher. The musical score is in the script. Directors are urged to update the teen-age slang and styles in the script as patterns change.

Two acts; Set, California living room; Time, now.

The author, Ellie Stein, is a free-lance writer, poet, and prize-winning playwright. Before its world premiere, Squeeze was developed in a workshop at the NewWorks Theatre in San Diego, California.
